Merry Christmas! Today I thought of sharing few insights about how to find paying freelance clients. Throughout my 3 year freelance journey, I’ve dealt with all types of people and here are some of my conclusions.
Small Indian businesses would not pay freelancers. The reason is simple: Most of them cannot afford your service.
Funded Indian startups have a lot of money to spend. Every time a new startup gets funded, they spend on a lot of graphic design, content marketing, and new technologies. These are the ones that can actually afford your service.
US and European businesses would pay. Since the hourly rates are too high in these places, they out source a lot of their work to India. Tons of freelancers benefit from the $ to INR conversion :)
