Warm greetings!
I'm super excited to bring you today's newsletter.
If you're new here then welcome! I'm glad that you chose to learn freelance skills and up-skill yourself. Today we'll talk a bit about web-development and photoshop
Syntax based learning VS Project based learning
A lot of people learn the syntax of programming languages like C, C++ or JavaScript and consider themselves to be experts in building stuff. This isn't the right way of going about it. Always work on at-least 3 personal projects before you start applying for freelance gigs. This helps you build a good portfolio that you can showcase to your clients.
Here are few Youtube channels that teach you JavaScript by doing projects:

Have a lot of time and wanna listen to podcasts?
Podcasts are my favourite. They help me listen to amazing stuff while doing things I love. Here are is an amazing podcast that you try out on Spotify:
Syntax Podcast (It's a web-dev community and talk about recent happenings in the space)
What's backend and frontend web-development?
This is a complex question but I'll try simplifying it. When you visit any website you, whatever you see on the homepage is the front-end part of it. It's what the users can SEE on the website. Backend is what happens behind the hood, for example when you submit a form on a website, the things that the program does behind the scenes like sending the form data to the database and storing it. Website visitors cannot see what's happening in the back-end. More about this in the next newsletter
What is Figma?
Figma is a tool used to design websites. Before you start to code the front-end of the website, it is essential that you know how the website should look like. Figma is like an advanced graphic designing tool which lets you design websites and visualise them in a drap and drop platform. You can even use Photoshop for this but Figma is the market leader for website design.
